BESPOKE JEWELRY PROCESS
STEP 1: DISCUSS
In your initial consultation with Kate, you can discuss the jewelry piece you envision. This can be done online, over the phone, or in-person. She will ask questions to get a sense of the design direction. You can share pictures, images or drawings of what you have in mind, along with your budget. (Please note that bespoke jewelry starts at $1,000 per piece, not including the gemstone).
STEP 2: DESIGN
Approximately two weeks later, Kate will provide an initial CAD rendering of your jewelry piece. This is the exciting part, as your ideas take shape! Kate will then work with you to tweak your likes/dislikes. She offers three rounds of adjustments/CAD renderings, if needed, without charge.
STEP 3: SELECT
As a GIA Graduate Gemologist with a keen eye for color and design, Kate is able to source the proper stones needed to bring character and life to your jewelry piece. Her vendors offer top quality diamonds, rubies, sapphires, as well as other responsibly sourced gemstones and pearls.
STEP 4: APPROVE
Once final design changes are made and gemstones or other materials are agreed to, Kate will provide you with a final CAD rendering for your approval. At this time, the final design will be complete and the final estimated price established. A deposit will enable the fabrication process to begin .
STEP 5: FABRICATE
At this stage, your CAD file is sent to the caster to be formed in wax, then cast in metal. From there, your jewelry piece is sent back, cleaned up (lots of work!), stones set and polished. This step in the process typically takes 6-8 weeks.
STEP 6: DELIVER
At last – your new piece of jewelry is ready for you to wear, appreciate, and maybe even brag about. We hope you will wear this new extension–of–you in good health and with joy in your heart.
